DTV requirement ยท effective 31 August 2026
Every DTV applicant now needs a criminal record clearance issued by the relevant authority in their country of nationality (or country of legal residence), dated within the last 6 months. Nationality or permanent residence: Current Thai DTV guidance requires a criminal-record clearance issued by the country of your nationality or the country where you have permanent residence. The exact rule can depend on the Thai mission handling your application.
Translation & legalisation. Certificates not in English or Thai usually need a certified translation, and some consulates require an apostille / legalisation. Confirm with the consulate or embassy you're applying through.
Order it early. The police check is often the slowest document in the whole application โ start it before anything else.
